Das mais de 6 mil esp\u00e9cies cultivadas para a alimenta\u00e7\u00e3o, menos de 200 fazem contribui\u00e7\u00f5es substanciais para a produ\u00e7\u00e3o global de alimentos.<br \/>\nO que \u00e9 ainda pior \u00e9 que apenas nove esp\u00e9cies de plantas (cana-de-a\u00e7\u00facar, milho, arroz, trigo, batata, soja, fruto do \u00f3leo de palma, beterraba sacarina e mandioca) respondem por quase dois ter\u00e7os da produ\u00e7\u00e3o agr\u00edcola total do mundo. Essa perda de biodiversidade causada pela monocultura resulta na homogeneiza\u00e7\u00e3o de nossas dietas: comemos alimentos do mesmo pequeno n\u00famero de produtos b\u00e1sicos, o que reduz drasticamente nossa ingest\u00e3o de nutrientes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">A monocultura tamb\u00e9m nos torna mais vulner\u00e1veis a zoonoses ou doen\u00e7as transmitidas dos animais para os humanos, como a atual pandemia de Covid-19. Isso acontece quando as florestas s\u00e3o desmatadas para mais lavouras, fazendo-nos perder plantas nativas, animais selvagens e outras formas de vida que, de outra forma, nos protegeriam de uma s\u00e9rie de patogenias que causam zoonoses.<br \/>\nAl\u00e9m disso, o sistema alimentar dominante nos adoece devido \u00e0 sua forte promo\u00e7\u00e3o de alimentos ultraprocessados que s\u00e3o ricos em gordura, a\u00e7\u00facar e sal. O consumo de alimentos ultraprocessados desencadeia diferentes formas de desnutri\u00e7\u00e3o e doen\u00e7as n\u00e3o-transmiss\u00edveis relacionadas, como a diabetes.<\/p>\n[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text max_width=&#8221;550&#8243;]\n<h4 style=\"text-align: left;
